SUTTON APPROVED DRIVING INSTRUCTORS ASSOCIATION

Minutes of 1st Annual General Meeting held on
8.45pm June 8th 2011 at the Parochial Rooms, Cheam Village, Surrey.

Present: Members of SADIA Forum
Apologies: David Nicholls
Next Meeting: 8.00pm 13th September 2011 at the Parochial Rooms,
Cheam Village.


1. Announcements
Chairman Cris Winslade welcomed the members and pointed out where the fire exits were.

2. Cris presented his report for 2010-2011

3. To receive reports from Liaison Secretary James, Membership
Secretary Julie, Treasurer Ann. Cris then thanked the above and once the accounts were adopted, thanked Auditors Ruth and Alison, Deputy Chair Jane, Secretary Phil and Ruth and Chris Kingsley for their work for SADIA, QEF and the Christmas get together.

4. Committee members stood down while Chris Kingsley took the chair.

After the nominations and a show of hands the Election for 2011/2012 were: Chair Cris Winslade, Deputy Chair Jane, Secretary Phil, Treasure Ann, Membership Secretary Julie, Industry Secretary James, Community Liaison Lesley Philbey, DSA Liaison Chris Kingsley, and Social Convenor Ruth Kingsley. After a short disscusion Lorna Dunne agreed to help Lesley with the role of Community Liaison.

5. The first Committee meeting will take place on the 22nd June 2011 at the
Claret Wine Bar, Cheam Village at 8.30. A slight amendment to wording of the Constitution was suggested by the DIA and after a disscusion was voted on and adopted and an updated copy tabled.

6. A proposal for the Forum meetings 2011-2012 to continue to be held at
the Parochial Rooms and to have 4 meetings Inc the AGM there, was voted and agreed upon.

7, A proposal from the Treasurer for the ensuing year to keep the joining fee
at ₤5 and Annual Subscriptions should be reduced to ₤15 regardless of the joining date. The vote confirmed that change.

8. Cris thanked the members for their continued support and stated that a
full year of Speakers and Debates will be published shortly after the next Committee Meeting.

9. Any Other Business

Elected Auditors for 2011-2012 are Alison and Don Walters
The Forum is up and running, as is Face Book, and is an excellent way of getting up-to-date information and Q&A’s and the odd rant.

It was proposed that Sadia should open its doors to any person who has applied and received a PRN personal reference number, PDI’s and Motorcycle instructors and driving instructors in general.
Ruth Kingsley has cancelled the summer event at COMOS because of limited interest but will rebook for 15th July 2011.

The next Forum meeting of SADIA is 13th September 2011 8.00pm at the Parochial Rooms, Cheam Village.
