| In my experience which is only one American. I asked him. He'd been here on & off for years... So therefore flouting the system. So what are we supposed to do about that? Too late & not our responsibilty IMO. At least by coming to us they are have decided to sort it out so not an issue anymore | |

| As you say Julie, many many flout the system. I ask the questions and explain the legalities if they are unsure. The biggest issue for me is that of valid insurance, or not!! I'm pretty strong on this!! Old Bag syndrome!! ..... I wouldn't be able to recognise an IDP as an official document from the various authorities so, if the clients intention is to pass a UK driving test, I insist that they have a UK provisional licence and display L plates. | |
